Please check out this info on Summer Camp Opportunities at WKU for grades 6-10!
Now is a perfect time for your students to apply to attend SCATS and VAMPY.
Students arrive at the WKU campus from counties around Kentucky, states across the nation, and countries all over the world to form a community of diverse backgrounds and interests. For gifted and talented students who crave knowledge, academic challenge, and peers who accept them as they are, SCATS and VAMPY offers a life-changing world of both learning and friendship.
A two-week residential or nonresidential camp held June 9-21, SCATS offers high-ability students who have finished grades 6–8 a unique learning environment to explore new ideas, develop concepts, make friends, and share experiences. A three-week residential camp held in June 23 - July 13, VAMPY offers high-ability students who have finished grades 7–10 the chance to focus on one course during six class hours each weekday plus a nightly hour-long study hall. Classes are taught by highly motivated WKU faculty and area high school teachers who are thrilled to have equally highly motivated students. Thanks to a generous grant from the Qatar Foundation International, The Center is able to offer funding to students interested in studying Arabic at VAMPY. The funding is twofold: 1) up to $2000 to any eligible student: 2) up to the full amount of VAMPY tuition for students demonstrating financial need.
